About Life Supports
Life Supports Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) Counselling and Rehabilitation Service is a specialist service committed to meeting the unique and specific needs of adults, children and families affected by ABI. Founded in 2004 by Marcus Andrews, Life Supports provides specialised counselling and rehabilitation for individuals living with ABI in home and community settings. Its reputation has grown significantly and it is now widely recognised, by clients and service providers alike, for its professional, specialised and effective support of those adjusting to life with ABI.
We have a highly experienced and specialised counselling and rehabilitation team who, over the past two decades, have worked extensively in ABI rehabilitation teams at senior levels both in Australia and internationally.
We offer home based and community appointments throughout Melbourne and surrounding areas.

How we work with our clients
ABI is a complex yet often invisible disability that can have devastating and long term consequences, not only for the person with the injury, but also for their family and friends.
At Life Supports, we work along side individuals with ABI and their families to maximise emotional wellbeing and functional independence. As appropriate, we support our clients through the process of grieving the loss of pre-injury abilities or life roles. We work with clients to facilitate adjustment to and acceptance of change that has been brought about by brain injury. Alongside this psychological support, we work with clients to identify their strengths and work around their difficulties in order that they may pursue meaningful activities and take on purposeful life roles.
We work with clients of all ages and abilities who may have acquired their brain injury through trauma (e.g. car accident), infection, disease, drug or alcohol use, stroke, brain tumour or who have other neurological conditions.
